South Florida Rodents Bearded Dragon Food
Bearded Dragon Food
Bearded dragons are known as the opportunistic omnivores in the wild. Their diet depends entirely on what’s available in their area. If there are a lot of insects as part of their environment, they will eat on those type of insects. On the other hand, if there’s a lot of vegetation, they will get used to eating vegetables and fruits. To ensure your pet gets the minerals and vitamins to remain healthy, South Florida Rodents has the food source available all year long.
Insects
We recommend adding insects to your young dragon’s diet. Some common insects they like to eat include
crickets, mealworms, and super worms. They should be the largest portion of the bearded dragon’s protein diet. As “Occasional Treats” the meal or super worms should be fed intermittently and should not be the base of the protein diet as they have a hard chitin (outer exoskeleton) that can be difficult to digest, especially for small bearded dragons. Also, mealworms should be avoided with babies too, unless they have recently molted and have a softer chitin. Our online store offers all these live insects at affordable prices, and the shipping package guarantees almost all of the crickets to be delivered alive. Vegetables
Bearded dragons eat a variety of vegetables, and it is very important that you add those to their diet. A diet that complements vegetables will ensure that your pet is receiving a wide cross-section of nutrients and vitamins. We recommended you add green leafy vegetables to your pet’s diet such as mustard greens, kale, dandelions, and collard greens. Also, make sure that you provide them with a daily basis diet to your dragon throughout their whole life. Remember, all vegetables, and fruits should be finely chopped to make it easier for your pet to eat. Never offer any food that is too large.
