Taking Care of Your Baby Turtle – Turtles for sale
Forget about getting a turtle and putting it in a bowl of water with some rocks. Your new little companion is going to need much more than that. Turtles require more than a small container to keep them healthy. For the happiness of your turtle, heating, lighting, temperature control, and filtration are important factors to keep their longevity. Even if you put them in a large aquarium, doesn’t meet their needs, as they need another area to get completely dry.
Also, your baby turtle won’t live on cat food and shrimp treats. Turtles have special diets, and various species have specific feeding needs, so be careful with some prepared foods on the market because all of them are not of high quality. You don’t need to be a nutritionist to feed your loved one, but an understanding of their basic needs is required to keep them happy and healthy.
Lighting is important, so your lamp desk is not going to meet the requirements of your baby turtle. Special lighting is crucial to allow a good bodily function while they grow. Try to take your turtle out in the sun because room temperature doesn’t meet their needs. Turtles do not generate their own body heat, so they rely on the sun to get warm and the water to cool down. Water, air, and basking temperatures need to be in their natural habitat so they can act naturally.
Turtles are not like other pets that you can touch and handle all the time. Don’t take them outside for walks because its not good for them. These can cause them stress and lead to future health problems. Watch them swim, eat, bask and move in the home you have provided them. Your turtle will be much happier, and you will see them grow for years!
